Out With the Old. In With the New.

Wether you have renewed, renewed to transfer or you will be leaving The Vault, Move Out Day (the 25th) is FAST approaching. In just 11 days, actually. We thought there were a few things you might want to know, so we compiled a shorter list of expectations we have for our residents based off the emails/letters you have received about MOVE-OUT.

If you've renewed with us...

First off, we are so excited to have you for another year! Thank you for making The Vault your home and sticking with us! :)

If you're a transfer rental or if you're staying in the same unit, here's what to expect from July 25th to August 8th:

- Hours of entry into units: 9AM-8PM everyday, vendors and our Vault team will be entering ALL units with vacancies multiple times during this timeframe.

- What kind of vendors are we referring to? We are partnering with Turn University, who will be handling cleaning, painting, and carpet cleaning our vacant units and bedrooms. These vendors will be handling each of these tasks on separate days, so please expect us to be coming back multiple times during “turn.”

- After our vendors have cleaned, painted, and carpet cleaned our team will be coming back through to provide maintenance where needed. In addition, our team will be conducting a walk thru after vendors have concluded their projects.

-Lastly, our team will conduct a final walk thru on August 7-8 to check that common areas are cleaned. So PRETTY PLEASE, make sure that you clean up the common area so that your new roomies have a good first impression and place to put their things!

Work Orders During Turn: What to expect.

Maintenance will also be very busy during this time due to the mass amount

of move-outs and move-ins taking place over the next few weeks. Work orders will

be done according to emergency and priority during this period.

An emergency maintenance request is considered:

to be a flood, AC is not working and apartment is above 80 degrees, clogged shower/toilet, or an

active water leak in to unit. These emergency requests should be directed to the office

immediately. Keep in mind all other requests will be handled as soon as possible.

If you are transferring units...

August 1, 2021 at 9:00am is your assigned transfer date.

On Transfer Day, you will need to visit the office to pick up the following items:

  • NEW Front door Key/Fob

  • NEW Bedroom Key

  • NEW Mailbox Key

  • We will check to make sure that your account balance is at $0 (excluding August jhghjhuiuytuiuiytfgyuyiuoipo[p][oiuyghfdfdgfhrent), which is mandatory to transfer.

Once you have transferred apartments ON AUGUST 1st, you must return your:

  • OLD Front door Key/Fob

  • OLD Bedroom Key

  • OLD Mailbox Key

Make sure that ALL of your belongings are out of your old unit/bedroom and that you haven't left any trash, personal or cleaning items. Also, make sure that you do a quick but efficient cleaning in your room/unit before you leave.

If you are really leaving us :(
  • You will need to have keys turned in and your unit cleared and empty by NOON ON JULY 25TH. After the resident has removed all personal articles from the unit, the Management Team member will perform an inspection with the resident present. This appointment must be made at least 2 days prior to move out day. No units will be walked through with a resident on move-out day.

  • We also offer our Express Move Out Option, here are our steps for that process:

1. Sign up with the office to indicate that you will be using the Express method of checking out.

2. Obtain an Express Check Out waiver from the office.

3. Remove your belongings and clean your room, bathroom, and common area.

Sign the waiver, place both documents inside the Check Out Envelope, and then take it to the

Express Move Out box located in the office. (You are now finished with the move out process)

4. Staff will inspect your room after you leave.

What if I won't be in Statesboro on Move-out date?

Well, you can always empty your apartment and drop your keys off at any time between now and July 24th at 6pm. But if you won't be here for the either, you have the option of completing your move-out process through the mail. All of the items listed above must be received by the move-out date, July 31 to avoid missing item(s) charges. Please see the “Move-out by Mail” form for details.

Damages, charges and fees OH MY!

We all know that money doesn't grow on trees, and move out damages are something we need to avoid. How do we avoid those move out fees due to damages and belongings left behind? Here are some do's and don's to help you stay clear of charges:

Most Common Move-Out Charges

1. Holes in the wall larger than a photo frame nail, and nails/screws left in the wall

2. Trash removal (don’t forget hangers, curtains, rods, and the inside of drawers)

3. Cleaning of ceiling fans/window sills/baseboards

4. Carpet cleaning (this includes vacuuming under those beds!)

5. Cleaning of common areas including microwave and oven

TRASH/ABANDONED BELONGINGS: The Vault is not responsible for any items left in the unit. A $25 fee per bag of trash will be charged to your account for the removal of personal items.

***One item is equivalent to one bag of trash, so be diligent to ensure that ALL personal items have been removed from the unit. Any personal furniture left in the unit will be removed at a minimum charge of $25+. Any items left behind in the unit after your Transfer Day will be considered abandoned and will not be stored.

LOST/UN-RETURNED KEYS: Failure to turn your keys in by the due date/time, or if they are lost, you will be charged. It is $75 for your front door key fob, and then $10 for your bedroom key and $10 for your mailbox key.

FURNITURE CHARGES: Any damaged furniture, you will be charged for the replacement furniture.
