We are fast approaching the busiest time pre-school year, moving into your new house/apartment for Fall semester. It's just SIXTY-SIX days until Move-In Day at The Vault! So, I thought I would share some tips and tricks on how to make the most of your space, while still maintaining an aesthetic. Keep reading for more organization tips and decoration inspiration!
Here is some inspiration for functional decorating from yours truly! I use these hacks in my apartment here at The Vault and I am so happy to share with you what has made it a little easier for me!
Behind closed doors!
-Extra storage in the closet by adding stackable drawers! They aren't super visually appealing, but they are hidden from view and help contain smaller clothing items and such.
Let it all hang out!
-Getting a free-standing clothes rack does two things, allows you to take some outfits of your closet making more space and allows you to showcase some of your favorite pieces. I have one in my room and keep my nice sweaters on it, they match the colors of my room and so it is functional and aesthetic.
Cover it up!
- Grab some stick on vinyl and washi tape to wrap your storage containers, baskets, and even your mini fridge. Decorating is not only fun, it's also a great creative outlet. Overall it'll help bring your entire room together and avoid a "storage container department store" vibe. You can get as crazy as you want or as minimalistic as you want with prints and patterns.
Baskets & Bins are your friends!
-The best way to stay organized without blowing a bag is to run to Dollar Tree and pick up some little plastic bins and containers to separate items in under the sinks, in your dresser drawers and in the drawers in the kitchen. I found that getting little shelves work phenomenal for under the sink in the bathroom and cabinets in the kitchen, it fills space horizontally so you have double, even triple the room under your sink, and everything stays organized!
